The singular work of Laurent "Lo" has antecedents; rather influences from his travelling around Asia follows a personal path which has made of him one of the few artists working with this material, which increases the work's value.

His work is marked by a series of formal constants in which precisely the material is the basic source of inspiration. It has a specific meaning; the ideas he expresses come from the bamboo virtues. Lightness, resistance, elasticity, flexibility, malleability, mathematics of segmentation and of proportion, spirituality, mythology and ethnology.

It's combination creates forms and structures, small or monumental based on the balance, tension, suspension and movement giving as final result the aesthetics of the space. His work is subtle, full of formal complexities which imply complicated calculations the artist has to make in order to reach the tensions which beat in the lightness of his sculptures.
